The majority of our Pilates clients attend our clinic because of neck or back pain. Regular performance of Pilates exercises as well as postural correction often helps prevent and relieve neck and back pain.
At Duncraig Physiotherapy and Pilates we can also help relieve initial pain by using “hands on” techniques such as mobilising joints, massage and strapping.
We may also use heat, ice or electrotherapy to facilitate treatment.
We then advise how to avoid further aggravation of the injury while doing activities at home.
In most circumstances neck and back pain are related to posture and movement patterns.
We aim to improve posture and movement patterns to reduce incidence of re-injury in the future.
