An assessment is recommended before commencing any group or individualised Pilates program.
Please note that a referral is not required if you are not claiming for workers compensation or motor vehicle injuries.
If you are choosing to begin an individualised program, a comprehensive assessment is provided. This assessment will look at posture, muscle imbalances and movement patterns. Based on the findings your exercise program will be designed to specifically meet your needs.
If you have been referred by another health professional, with your consent, a detailed report will then be forwarded. Depending on the extent of your history of injuries one or two half hour consultations may be required to complete the assessment.
Most initial consultations require 20 to 30min where you are assessed and treated by the physiotherapist.
If you have been referred, a report of the findings will be sent with your approval to your referring specialist.
If you are a new client to Duncraig Physiotherapy and would like to start classes, an assessment is required before you start to make sure that a class situation is safe and to discuss which type of class would best suit your needs.
