Equipment Classes

Pilates exercises can be facilitated by the used of specialised equipment including the trapeze, reformer, ladder barrel and chair. The Power Plate is also used in the class situation.

An advantage of the equipment classes is that the correct postures and movement patterns for daily living activities are constantly reinforced.

The equipment classes are circuit based and include 10 stations utilising the various equipment.
There is also a short warm up and cool down.

Two physiotherapy consultations are required prior to commencing the classes.
The first is to do an assessment and to determine if the client is suitable to attend a group session.

Some advice on posture or activation of core muscles is often included in this session.
During the next session the client is introduced to the 10 exercises included in the class.

The classes are 55min and run over the school term in 8-11 week blocks.
